HOW TO SPOT A SCAM
In today's fast-paced world, it is easy to fall for potential scams. Below are some tips to consider when looking to adopt a puppy.

-
If the price sounds too good to be true, it is!
-
If you cannot speak directly to the owner and if they will not let you visit their facility, it is a scam. No excuses!
-
Websites can be easily faked, make sure they have a Facebook or social media page that is at least a year old. And read the reviews and testimonials.
-
Ask to see a copy of their state and USDA license.
-
Make sure recent photos are added to social media.
-
Verify on County tax rolls that the address provided belongs to the person selling the pup. You can also perform a reverse look up on the phone number.
-
Call past customers or text them asking for a recommendation.
-
Make sure pups are AKC registered.
-
Ask the breeder to take a picture of the pup with a recent newspaper or an unusual item (coffee mug, plant, etc...) or FaceTime with the owner and pup.
-
Google the breeders name.
-
Get referrals from Italian Greyhound forums.
